About Us

What is a Big Bang event?
A Big Bang is an event where artists and writers collaborate to create joint works together. Each artist is paired with a writer to illustrate a work created over the course of the event.
I’m neither an artist or a writer, can I still take part in the event?
Absolutely! We need beta readers, we need mods, we need help with advertising and promotion. Since this is such a small fandom, we’re gonna need all the interest and participation we can get!
What platform does the event take place on/how do I join?
This is the official Nausicaa Big Bang event blog, where all information and news will be collected. However the event itself will take place on discord.
Sign ups open on November and close in December. A link to the sign up form will be published on this blog. I will also be posting the exact event schedule here.
Who are the mods?
Mod Palm-Spores (@mushigo-palm-spores) is heading up the project coordination, mod PetraCore (@petracore101) is in charge of graphics, and mods Ekko (@ekk0klo) and Eliza (@zagreuses-toast) are our general mods!

Rules and FAQ

What is a Big Bang event?
A big Bang is an online event where artists and writers pair up to create collaborative works. Once the event starts, each artist chooses a writer who’s work they would like to illustrate. Both will work in close collaboration as the writers write a piece specific for the event over a given course of time (see the schedule)
I can’t write/draw, can I still participate in the event?
Absolutely! We need beta readers, we need mods, we need help with advertising and promotion. Since this is such a small fandom, we’re gonna need all the help we can get!
Gifsets, edits and moodboards will suffice as artistic responses. How do I choose my artist/writer?
Once you’ve signed up, you will be sent a link to the discord server where the event takes place. There will be several designated channels where both writers and artists can introduce each other and show off what they’ve got! Artists and writers will then need to send the mods their preferences by a certain deadline (see schedule).
Can I do both art AND writing?
Yes! Again, absoloutely!
Can I write more than one fic/do more than one artwork?
Yes! The more content, the better.
Do my fics need to have a certain length?
No. So long as your writing has enough visual output to give your artist some solid input, it’s fine. Just remember that you have more than half a year to write your stuff so maybe……..don’t spend all of it twiddling your thumbs.
If I sign up as a mod, can I still participate in the event?
Yes, please do! We’d love to see your work!
Do I need to have tumblr to participate?
Mod Eliza is in charge of the twitter account, where updates will also be posted. We’ll be reaching out on reddit and discord as well.
That said, our tumblr blog will be the main place for info and announcements so it would be wise if you had some means of following/messaging it.Do I need to have discord to participate?
Yes. The event will take place mostly there so a discord account is paramount.
Can I post sneek peeks/wips on my blog?
Yes! Celebrate your work guys!
Am I allowed to make nsfw content?
Yes. But please add content warnings and respect the trigger list on discord. Be nice, guys.
Where will my finished piece(es) be published?
The zine is taking a digital PDF format. Finished pieces will be posted to tumblr, twitter, and AO3. In all instances you will be fully credited!
